چیف برودی (روی اسچیدر ) کلانتر شهر ساحلی است که به تازگی در آنجا دختری هنگام شنا گم شده. با پیدا شدن جسد دختر که بصورت وحشیانه ای کشته شده چیف به دنبال علت مرگ اوست و به وجود کوسه در ساحل مشکوک است. با حرفهای سرمایه داران شهر که ساحل منبع درآمد آنهاست و وجود کوسه را در ساحل غیر ممکن می بینند، شک او برطرف میشود اما با کشته شدن پسر بچه ای دیگر …
