CHU thanks CHUEN for his help, and is relieved to see that TAK is only dismissed and does not have to face any further punishment. Feeling guilty for causing so many people to suffer, KWAN decides to kill herself. Before committing suicide, she dresses herself as a commoner and writes CHUEN a letter of goodbye. The Emperor is so distressed by KWAN’s injury that he is absent from the morning meeting and delegates all duties to CHUEN for handling. SIN is found to have killed SHEK, and is being hotly pursued by HO and his teammates. On behalf of the Empress Dowager, CHAI asks SIN to join their camp. The Empress Dowager is more than certain that CHUEN is plotting a revolt. From SIN she also learns about PO’s relationship with the late TING.
